May 15, 2025 (OTTAWA) – Food and Beverage Canada (FBC-ABC) is pleased to announce updates to its Executive Committee, following its Annual General Meeting and spring Board of Directors meeting.
David Anyanwu, Director of Federal Government Relations at Cargill Limited, has been elected to the Executive Committee as Director at Large for a two-year term.
FBC-ABC also confirms the re-appointment of Mike Bannister, President and CEO, Atlantic Poultry Inc. as Chair. Additionally, Ted Lawson, Chief Commercial Officer, Nortera has been re-appointed to the Executive Committee in the role of Treasurer, having previously served as Director at Large. Both will serve two-year terms.
The association extends its gratitude to Robert Eiser, President, Aliments LUDA Foods, for his leadership as Co-Chair and looks forward to his continued contributions as he transitions into the role of Past Chair.
FBC-ABC also thanks Kathleen Sullivan, Vice President Government and Industry Relations, Maple Leaf Foods and Michael Burrows, CEO, Maple Lodge Farms for their time as members of the Executive Committee. Both will continue to serve as valued members of the Board of Directors.
At the spring Board of Directors meeting, members engaged in productive discussions on the association’s continued growth and post-election advocacy strategy. Key topics included policy recommendations to boost industry productivity and competitiveness, the Policy and Advocacy Committee’s work on a proposed Food and Beverage Manufacturing Modernization Fund, and the ongoing efforts of the Canada-U.S. Relations Working Group.
FBC-ABC also released its 2024-2025 Annual Report during this week’s Annual General Meeting. The report is available online here.
Since its founding in 2018, FBC-ABC has grown into a leading national voice for Canada’s food and beverage manufacturing industry. The Board of Directors continues to play a critical role in shaping policy and advocating on behalf of companies across the country.
